A sparkle from the rainbow: Xenopeltis

If you think the rainbow is only in the sky, you are wrong. You have hardly seen how rainbow colors turn itself from color to color on a snake's skin. Snakes are a little, not even a little bit, exactly cold animals. However, there is a reality that their skin reflects, which is that it is a complete design wonder. You can't even touch a real snake, but who of us hasn't stared in admiration at that design wonder of a snake? You may dislike or be afraid of snakes. But there is one type of snake that can change your mind about snakes.

Let's talk about "Xenopeltis" in this article. Another species of this snake is "Xenopeltis Unicolor".

The Turkish pronunciation of Xenopeltis is "Zenopeltis".  We can call it a "sunshine" or "sunbeam" snake. In fact, if we examine a little more, we can go as far as Xenon headlights. But we won't go that far...

The Xenopeltis snake species is generally seen in Southeast Asia. They belong to the family of non-venomous snakes. So even if it stings you, there is no possibility of poisoning you. They have a smooth, shiny and iridescent skin texture. Their average length is one meter. However, some species can reach one and a half meters in length. Judging by their DNA structure, they are closely related to some Mexican python snake species.

Xenopeltis nest in the rice fields, marshes and dense vegetation of the Far East. They spend most of their lives in secret hiding. It is not possible to see them except in cloudy or rainy times. If you piss them off or if they get angry about something, they will wag their tail quickly and move quickly, as you can see with many snakes. They also feed on frogs, lizards, birds and small mammals. They lay at least 6 and at most 17 eggs at the time of spawning.

By the way, since the Xenopeltis snake species does not harm humans and is non-venomous, many snake lovers want to keep it as a pet, but this does not seem possible. This is due to the fact that they are very difficult to catch alive and that they spend almost all of their lives in a mysterious and secluded way. In addition, the high rate of death when they feel under stress prevents them from being fed as pets. In short, Xenopeltis is a species that likes solitude like cowboys.

In any case, there is hardly a species of reptile that shines and radiates rainbow colors like Xenopeltis. This is an animal to be admired even because of its glittering and iridescent design wonders.
